NMDS (Non-metric Multi-dimensional scaling) was analyzed and dynamically displayed based on species abundance table or inter-sample distance matrix.It is often used to visually present the clustering features of samples and groups.
Note: If the abundance table is entered, the default analysis is based on the Bray-Curtis distance.

2. Application

Abundance table/distance table of 16S, metagenomic and other sequencing analysis.


1)Input file: Tab delimited two-dimensional numerical table, such as Excel save as TXT format.

2)Necessary: abundance table or distance matrix; Not necessary: Sample grouping file.

1) Coordinate axis scale range is adaptive or customized
2) Modify the color, shape, size and transparency of sample points
3) Add ellipses of the 95% confidence interval of samples or add peripheral lines between samples in the group
4) Whether to display the origin auxiliary line, sample name, center of mass, etc

5) Whether to display the stress value
6) Package and download the drawing data to the right of the task number

5. Figure interpretation

The points in the figure represent samples, which reflect the similarity of microbial community structure between samples according to the distance relationship between samples on the two-dimensional plane. The closer the samples are, the more similar the species composition between samples is.Stress value represents the effect of the model. The smaller the value is, the more reliable the model is. Generally, stress value is required to be less than 0.1.
